Community Cat Program

Community Cats

Community Cat programs are widely supported by the majority of voters. These programs allow shelters to run more effectively, saving money and boosting morale. Learn more about the benefits of community cat programs and how you can easily start a program in your area.

Shelters with community cat programs save money and lives by preventing shelter intake. The Community Cat Program provides rescue groups and shelters with 25 free surgery certificates each year. These certificates include a rabies vaccination and MANDATORY eartip.

The certificates can be used at any Community Cat Program (CCP) veterinarian. Please do not schedule appointments until you have received your green certificates.

The Community Cat Program is an on-going program of Indiana Humane Services and is made possible from revenue received from sales of the Indiana Pet Friendly License Plate.

Community Cats Task Force

Indiana Humane Services is compiling a list of cat advocates to help each other as we work to ensure every city, town or county allows trap-neuter-return. If you’d like to be  a part of the task force or if you need help, contact us at info@HumaneServicesIN.org or leave us a voice mail at 317-767-7771.

Saving Lives & Preventing Suffering

Our mission is to eliminate the euthanasia of healthy and treatable cats and dogs, bringing every shelter in Indiana to zero-kill. We are so grateful to our donors and supporters who help make that possible. Help us, help them, and join the movement to make a difference for Indiana’s cats and dogs!
